The 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is the 13th edition of the Cricket World Cup, a quadrennial One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament contested by men’s national teams and organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The tournament will be hosted by India, beginning on 5 October and concluding on 19 November 2023.
Ten national teams will participate: Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka. The teams will be divided into two groups of five, and will play each other once in a round-robin format. The top four teams from each group will advance to the Super 12 stage, where they will play each other once. The top four teams from the Super 12 stage will advance to the semi-finals, and the winners of the semi-finals will advance to the final.
The tournament will be held across nine venues in India: Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamshala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune. The final will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which is the world’s largest cricket stadium.
